Special Rider News logos for special occasions between 2012 and 2014.
For our Hurricane Sandy issue, I used the hurricane icon that everyone is accustomed to, changed it to the Rider News cranberry color, and put the usual leaf logo above with a white background. For Halloween, I created a jack-o'-lantern as if the logo was cut from the pumpkin itself. For Thanksgiving, I made the leaf more festive by adding a pilgrim hat. After President Obama was reelected, I linked the Obama logo with the leaf to show our support. For the last issue of the Fall 2012 semester, I created a snowman, using the inside stem of the leaf logo for his arms and the bottom of the stem for his carrot nose. It may look like an ordinary leaf on his hat, but that is in fact the Rider News leaf in green.
For Valentine's Day 2013, I used two leaf logos to create a heart. To commemorate the Rider News winning multiple awards at the end of the 2012-2013 school year, I created a gold medal embossed with the Rider News logo, complete with cranberry colored ribbons. To commemorate graduation, the logo donned a graduation cap.
For Halloween 2013, I decided to change the jack-o'-lantern to be more three-dimensional. For the Rider News career issue, which dealt with the career fair, I put the logo inside of a briefcase. For Valentine's Day 2014, the logo was added to a pink candy heart. For the last issue before spring break, I created a flower with five leaf logos.
